Chad Tragakis is a senior vice president in the corporate practice of Hill & Knowlton’s Washington, DC office. He provides counsel in the areas of message development and media relations, corporate positioning and executive visibility, corporate social responsibility, internal communications, issues management, and industry image and issue advocacy campaigns. Chad also specializes in writing global citizenship reports, by-lined articles, opinion editorials, campaign collateral material and Web content.
Prior to rejoining Hill & Knowlton in 2003, Chad served as senior director of media relations and special events for America’s Promise, a national youth development non-profit launched by Gen. Colin Powell. In this capacity, Chad provided communications counsel internally as well as to program partners and provided counsel and support in media relations capacity building to community affiliates. He also led and supported major initiatives including publication of Alma Powell’s children’s books, the 2002 and 2003 Powell-Straw Youth Exchange programs, and relaunch of the America’s Promise Web site.
Chad serves on the advisory board of the Association of Americans for Civic Responsibility and chairs the group’s Committee on Institutional Civic Responsibility. He also serves as an advisor to the Havre de Grace Decoy Museum in Maryland, and is a writer and editor for The Canvasback, its official quarterly publication.
