Ammara joined Hill and Knowlton in January 2007 as Director, Corporate Social Responsibility and Governance. She is responsible for providing strategic communications counsel to clients in the areas of Corporate Social Responsibility, Governance, Public Consultation, Stakeholder Relations and Issues Management. Additionally, she supports the company’s activities in research and planning for client programmes and develops the company’s institutional knowledge base across key sectors of activity.
Prior to H&K, Ammara advised local, regional, and international clients in Dubai, on strategic communications, change management, capacity building programmes and public consultation. Ammara was the Senior Advisor, Government Relations and Issues Management at the Technical Standards and Safety Authority (TSSA) in Canada.
Ammara began her career in communications at the Atomic Energy of Canada Limited (AECL), a global nuclear technology and services company and a federal government Crown Corporation. As Communications Manager, she oversaw all initiatives related to research and issues management, public education programs, community relations, media relations, and corporate communications.
Ammara is a Canadian citizen and holds an Honours B.A., International Relations Specialist Programme, from the University of Toronto, Canada.
