Analyst Movements: changes at Forrester Research

Nine analysts have joined Forrester in recent weeks, three have relocated, one has changed role and one has moved on to new pastures.

ANALYST ADDITIONS:

Julie Hanson is an analyst on Forrester's Product and Channels research team and is based in Cambridge, MA.

Julie's research will focus on the eBusiness, Channel and Product Management professionals. She will analyze changing consumer behavior, attitudes, and technology adoption as it relates to healthcare. In her previous position, Julie served as a researcher at Forrester. In that role she covered such healthcare topics as the research tendencies of the uninsured, retail health clinics, and other consumer-related behaviors in the healthcare market. Prior to working with Forrester, Julie was a writer and researcher for CXO Media, publisher of CIO and CSO magazines. Additionally, Julie worked as a news reporter for a number of weekly newspapers, as a freelancer for the Worcester Telegram & Gazette and a music reviewer for the Boston Herald.

Julie received a degree in journalism from the University of Rhode Island and is currently pursuing a master's at Bentley College.

George Lawrie is a principal analyst on Forrester's Process and Applications research team and is based in London.

George's research will focus on retail technology. George re-joins Forrester from one of BT’s Enterprises where he was General Manager building a portfolio of applications and services for retailers. Previously, George was Senior Analyst at Forrester Research from January 2003 to November 2005 publishing and speaking on consumer goods value chain topics. Prior to joining Forrester his twenty year IT career included senior marketing, sales and business development roles in firms like MSA, Digital, SSA and Mapics.

George earned a bachelor’s degree in Economics from Exeter University and a Master’s degree in Operational Research from the University of Warwick Business School. George is a Goldratt Institute certified Jonah. He is a qualified accountant, chartered marketeer and a certified management consultant.

Jennifer Albornoz Mulligan is an analyst on Forrester’s Security and Risk Management research team and is based in Cambridge, MA.

Jennifer’s research will cover security-related topics such as technical and process-oriented safeguards when building privacy programs. Jennifer is a leading expert on privacy, and also researches server operating system security and RFID security. Prior to her work as an analyst, Jennifer served as a researcher at Forrester. Before joining Forrester, Jennifer worked for BBN Technologies designing and developing security algorithms for government clients in a variety of areas including sensor networks and key distribution. Previously, she worked for Northern Light Technologies developing their search logging capabilities.

Jennifer graduated from MIT with an S.M. in computer science, and Carnegie Mellon University with a B.S. in both mathematical studies and computer science.

Pete Nuthall is an analyst on Forrester's eBusiness, Product, and Channel Management research team and is based in Amsterdam.

Pete's research will focus on consumer telecom research, with an emphasis on mobile telecom. Prior to his current role, Pete was an analyst with Frost & Sullivan within the EMEA Mobile & Wireless Program. His coverage area included emerging markets, FMC and Mobile Data Services. Previously, he worked for BT as a Market Analyst where his responsibilities included benchmarking, market sizing, forecasting and competitor intelligence.

Pete is a graduate of the Hull University in England and holds a degree in American Studies.

Dr. Alexander Peters is a principal analyst on Forrester's IT Leadership research team and is based in Aachen, Germany.

Alex's research will focus on the development of IT strategies, enterprise architectures, governance and process frameworks, the consolidation and streamlining of IT, change management and communications strategies, sourcing strategies, and business technology trends and directions.

Previous to this role, Alex was a Principal Advisor for the EMEA Forrester Leadership Boards CIO Group. Prior to Forrester he worked as an independent consultant, interim manager, and coach with a large European automotive company. Previously, he worked for EDS and IBM as an executive senior consultant responsible for several international customer projects in various IT operations, and technology management areas, and served five years as a research scientist in high-performance computing at the IBM Scientific Center Heidelberg.

Alex received a master’s degree in engineering from the Civil Engineering Institute in Bucharest, Romania and a PhD in engineering from the Technical University Aachen in Germany. He also holds a postdoctoral fellowship from Princeton University.

Sarah Rotman Epps is an analyst on Forrester's Product and Channels research team and is based in Los Angeles, CA.

Sarah's research will primarily contribute to Forrester's offerings for the eBusiness, Channel and Product professional. She is a leading expert on eBusiness strategies for the travel industry. Sarah will help travel eCommerce professionals optimize their Web strategies for marketing, merchandising, and customer service. Prior to her analyst role, Sarah was a researcher and an editor at Forrester, supporting Forrester's research in the travel, retail, and financial services industries. Prior to Forrester, Sarah was the publishing director of Let's Go travel guides, where she oversaw the publication of the annually updated series of 40 books. She also worked for Let's Go as a writer and editor, writing new coverage for Let's Go: Hawaii, Let's Go: Boston, Let's Go: Austria & Switzerland, and Let's Go: Southeast Asia.

Sarah holds a B.A. in visual and environmental studies from Harvard University.

James Staten is a principal analyst on Forrester's IT Infrastructure and Operations research team and is based in Foster City, CA.

James' research will focus on server infrastructure, virtualization and data center operations including x86 server hardware, x86 processor, high-performance/grid computing, and overall systems architectures. James came to Forrester from Azul Systems where he was Director of Product Marketing, and Sun Microsystems where he was Director of Marketing, Software and Director of Storage Software and Solutions Marketing. Prior to joining Sun, he was the Chief Marketing Officer at ApplianceWare and a Principal Analyst at Gartner, where he directed the Emerging Server Technologies Worldwide research service.

James earned a Masters in Journalism from the Annenberg School of Communications at the University of Southern California and a Bachelors degree in Psychology from the University of North Texas.

Peter Sterpe is a senior analyst on Forrester's Architecture and Development research team and is based in Cambridge, MA.

Peter’s research will focus on management of the application development organization. Peter will work with application development and program management executives to help them optimize their organizational effectiveness through pragmatic metrics and the alignment of roles and responsibilities with strategic goals. Peter has twenty years of experience managing and consulting with application development organizations. Prior to joining Forrester, Peter was Chief Technology Officer at CuraSpan, an Internet application service provider in the healthcare space. He has also led engineering teams at companies like KPMG, Allaire, and Interleaf in a range of efforts from new product development to cross-platform porting. In addition, Peter was a consultant for Renaissance Strategy Group in knowledge management and Cambridge Technology Group in application development to clients in the telecommunications, insurance, energy and health care industries.

Peter earned a Bachelor of Science degree in computer science from MIT and a master of science from MIT’s Artificial Intelligence Laboratory.

Chloe Stromberg is an analyst on Forrester’s Marketing research team and is based in Foster City, CA.

Chloe's research will focus on marketing technologies and services for the pharmaceutical and automotive industry. Chloe's key research topics for pharmaceutical marketers include compliance and adherence programs, customer relationship marketing, key opinion leader (KOL) management, and eDetailing. For automotive marketers, Chloe will focus on experience strategy, car-buying behavior, emerging marketing tactics and lead management. Prior to her work as an analyst, Chloe served as a researcher at Forrester. Before joining Forrester, Chloe developed Web prototypes and marketing strategies for an Idealab NY startup, ran the press office at P.S.1 Contemporary Art Center in New York City, and conducted field interviews for the Survey Research Center at the University of Michigan.

Chloe holds an M.A. in economics from Boston University, and a B.A. from Hampshire College.

ANALYST TRANSITIONS

Norbert Kriebel has moved from Forrester’s office in Frankfurt, Germany and is now based in San Diego, CA USA.

 

 

Sean Sweeney moved from the analyst organization to Forrester's Leadership Boards where he is launching a Sourcing and Vendor Management Council. Christine Ferrusi Ross will be covering Sean's research area while identifying his replacement.

 

 
Niek van Veen, associate analyst, EMEA Product and Channel research team is now based in London.
