Change and Internal Communication in Portugal by Bruno Martins Soares, Practice Area Manager

To The World, My Friend

It's been a while since I blogged. Been taking the time to take the decision to start writing in English. Actually, I'll be doing it in two languages: from now on, the texts will be written in English and in Portuguese. This way my good English-language friends who have taken the time to Google-translate my posts and comment will be able to rest their language/digital skills a little bit.

I've also decided this blog should be more focused.

All organizations in the world communicate internally. It's not an option not to. There is no such thing as non-communication. But how many organizations are there that have turned Internal Communications into a competitive advantage?

That's what we do: we help turn our client's internal communication into a competitive advantage. One that helps make their structure more flexible, quicker to adapt to changes in their business and markets, and one that ensures that everyone knows their role and how they can impact results.

In an ideal world, in an ideal organization, the whole company would learn in a balanced open way and be able to change and innovate effortlessly. Thankfully, we're not in an ideal world - and that's why clients come to us.

It's not as easy as it seems. A client asked me, the other day: «How do we communicate change?» And I answered «You listen». Strangely enough, this seems hard to understand.
