If iPod did search engines

IN THE WEEKEND SUN -- It's lovely out, but spring has sprung, so I am hiding inside sniffling.

I don't know if you read Neville Hobson's blog a lot.  But if you don't, you should.  Neville tends to know what's happening online as it happens.  And if you're not surfing the net all day, he can help you cut through the rubbish and know what's interesting a bit before your employees even do!

Last week he wrote up SearchMe.  And it's cool.

This is a search engine that allows you to flick through the pages as they appear.

Try it.  It's cool.

There are certainly things to be improved... Don't bother, for example, if you are on dial-up or other slow connections...  And it's not set up for you to duck in and out... Selecting a page cannot be dine without losing your search...  And I am not sure they have filtered out all the porn (as Google does so well.)...

But I am sure these will all soon be fixed.  And improved.

Take a spin.

It's cool.

Thanks for the kind words, David!

Re SearchMe, it is very cool, I agree. Not necessarily how search will be but how it could be. Improvements needed, such as you mention.

But it's a pretty good indicator, I think, of where search can go.
