THE WEEK via SMS

I got an email a few days ago from a guy at Trylon Strategic Media Relations who had read my previous post where I mentioned "publications like THE WEEK will not last". He wanted to tell me that Trylon SMR had built out an SMS version extension of THE WEEK. Opt-in users can receive a weekly summary of a selection from "Best Columns: The U.S.", "Best Columns: International" and "Best Columns: Business".

Not sure how this will work with the 160 character limit on text messages. I just signed up for it and I will be sure to report back to you all.

This does bring up an on going problem for media companies who are scrambling for THE most effective way to stop losing readers and repurpose and distribute content through alternative channels.

What is the answer for this one? Not positive, but as far as I am aware no one has really found THE solution or best practice.
