About Kathleen Frith

A Consultant in Hill & Knowlton’s Calgary office, Kathleen is a communications generalist with experience in corporate communications, issues management, intercultural communication, stakeholder relations and internal and change communications. Kathleen began her communications career in Nagoya, Japan, as a Communications Assistant for a large Japanese ESL company. In this position, Kathleen worked as part of an international team to provide communications support during a major internal restructuring. As well, Kathleen managed two internal publications and researched, wrote and edited informational, entertaining and business-oriented articles tailored to foreign and Japanese managers. In addition to her internal newsletter work, Kathleen planned and executed strategic communications and delivered cross-cultural communications training. Her key focus was increasing employee engagement in the organization through strategic and targeted communications initiatives. Having spent time living, studying and working in Europe, Asia and North America, Kathleen brings a keen insight into cross-cultural communications and the challenges associated with increasing globalization. She studied Mandarin Chinese in Taiwan, achieving an intermediate proficiency level and has a keen interest in international relations, having studied politics at the University of British Columbia. In her spare time, Kathleen dreams of running away to become a travel writer, furniture designer or professor of something.
