Combining marketing and technology to develop new markets and grow existing ones

Oh Lord!

That's all I can say about this.

If Jarvis's suspicions about the commenter turn out to be true (and that's a big if, by the way), then this is going to go down as yet another reason why agencies like ours ought to be prepared to take appropriate action against any employee who thinks that leaving a comment like this is in the best interests of their client.

What constitutes appropriate action? A carpeting or giving them a quick tutorial on IP addresses and a couple of quid to take down the nearest Internet cafe?

    It's back up now.

I'm not too sure on it all.  The person involved (who supposedly is blog savvy which probably means web savvy too) couldn't be that stupid.

    Could he/she/they?

Chris, at any decent agency it would probably constitute a serious breach of contract, and result in either a formal warning or dismissal. Learning to engage on behalf of clients properly in the first place (which does not involve spoofing your IP address in my book) is certainly one form of prevention, but certainly not a cure.

    Stephen, I really hope not.

When we think about blogging policies for employees, we generally think about guidelines for posts. However, a recent controversey developing between A-list blogger Jeff Jarvis and a commentor points to the need for communicating policies regarding commenting.
