The best stories are children's stories

My good friend Dan has just signed a book deal to write children’s football novels. The first, The Kick Off, is set to be released on 4th June.

Dan is an expert communicator. He knows his football. He also knows children’s stories - we all do.

The best stories are children’s. (I find any excuse to pick up a Roald Dahl book).

  • They are memorable and clear
  • They paint a vivid picture
  • They have a simple structure
  • They have strong use of repetition
  • They have strong use of pause

Can't wait to read the first installment Dan!

Children's books can be great but when they are bad they are awful.

Dahl is brilliant though. My boy is a bit young but I have all my old copies stashed away for him.
