Beards

I saw my old mate Andy last night. He's grown a beard. A ginger beard.

It's one of my great regrets that beards don't belong in the workplace. I grew one over Christmas, and shaved it off the day I came back to work.

Where once it was de rigeur, now it's considered shifty.

But all my heroes have beards.

Bring back beards. And Mexican moustaches. You can't take your work too seriously if you've got a great big handlebar.

    Phil,

I hate to let you in on the news, but beards DO belong in the workplace.

The NY Times reported on March 23, 2006, that "people are into beards right now."

A few months later, NBC News claimed on June 19 that this trend could indicate the end of the metrosexual.

Fashion columnists the world over are raving about the rugged look of a masculine beard.

I am inspired by Phil's lament to his lost beard (and bored silly on a plane trip).
    I delight and horrify...

Hey I did the same thing, but I ended up looking like "Get Back"-era Paul McCartney so off it came when I went back in to the office as well.  Maybe it'll come back.  They do grow on you.
