Trend Mania: Hundreds of Trends From Across The Blogosphere About Life, Music, Blogs and More

If you are in the public relations or marketing business you have to be a fan of trends, insights, inspirations, whatever you want to call it, trends provide the pulse for everything creative.  To "be creative" you have to ground your ideas in appropriate insight and combine that with relevance which can be found in the form of trends.  (WOW - that is probably the most academic thing I've ever written).

In any case, back to the point at hand: trends.  One of the greatest things about a new year comes in the form of predictions on what's hot and what's not and what new trend is on the horizon and what is going to be a surprise hit, etc.  For all of you who love this part of our world, please read on, lots of easy ways to get your fill of trends for 2008.  WOOHOO!  (a word I predict will continue to be a crowd pleaser!)

  1. The gang over at Trendwatching has its "8 important consumer trends for 2008"
  2. Beyond Analysis chimes in with its "top 10 trends in social media and business for 2008"
  3. NPR (National Public Radio) has a near 30 minute broadcast on "top 10 cultural trends of 2007"
  4. The Washington Business Journal seems short one in their "Brands trends in 2008: Seven to watch"
  5. Advertising giant JWT is hedging all bets with "80 things to watch in 2008"
  6. Technology Futures has its Top 19 technology trends

  10. And no list of trends would be complete without the hottest hairstyle trends for 2008
The list could go on and on and on, so feel free to include links to others that you want to share.  Nothing like a good cup o'trends to start off your year.  WOOHOO!  (it's already catching on)
