Creative Business Solutions From Coca Cola

I heard today from colleagues in the US (and found the official news release) that Coca Cola has announced that it has created a line of clothing made from recycled plastic bottles.  The new line - called "Drink 2 Wear" is another way the company is trying to battle its environmental footprint, with this approach directly tackling one of the company's most visible form of items filling up landfills.  The company is distributing t-shirts that say "Make Your Plastic Fantastic" and "Rehash Your Trash" in Wal-Mart stores across the US (and on the company website), selling them for around $7.  The men's t-shirts feature a "4 inside" neck label and the women's t-shirt features a "3 inside" neck label indicating the number of bottles recovered and reused to create each shirt.

This is a great example of a company using a very creative idea to have a direct impact on a business challenge.  Another inspiration for the next time your company or client is facing a specific challenge, turn things on their head and use three simple words to guide your thinking "what if we" to see what you can think of to find your own creative solution.
