Apologies for the delay in replying and thanks for your interest. Commetric’s goal was to come up with a methodology that was simple, transparent and easily accessible to the widest audience. As the sample was based on print, twitter and blogs, considering the readership of each outlet would have been challenging and made our rankings more subjective for a number of reasons. There is little consensus on what factors make, for example, one blog more authoritative than another - the  number of followers or the frequency of posting/how active a blogger is. However, appreciate your feedback and am happy to talk you through our methodology in more detail if you wish.</description>

This is perhaps a major flaw in your methodology, as a mention in, say, The Guardian has a much larger impact than a mention on, for example, democracynow.org

Perhaps something to look at improving - different weightings for each mention, based on readership.</description>
