Whenever I go away I spend hours in the book store looking for a perfect travel book and usually the only book that gets it right is Lonely Planet. I won't even book a hotel or vacation without checking out my destinations on tripadvisor if I see a cockroach in the photos its a deal breaker! Tripadvisor has saved me from staying in hotel rooms with mould, dirty towels and sketchy neighborhood characters. Being a service based industry lets hope that more companies catch on to this social media trend!! I could not agree with you more about this one! The latest post on my blog tells the story about how social media, and specifically Twitter, made my month-long stay in Paris an incredible experience. As if Paris isn't incredible enough on its own. :) Social media helped me find resources, discover events taking place, get feedback from real Parisians and hook up with an incredible group of people.
