I head up the youth marketing offer at Hill & Knowlton, Australia, responsible for advising clients both here and abroad on strategic youth marketing practices. While I am no longer within the “youth” demographic I study, observe, engage and converse with – I am a firm believer that being youthful is a mindset and so therefore advise exactly that – youth marketing is more a bulls-eye approach then an exact target.

The nature of this blog is to search out and write about interesting trends, insights and ideas on, related to or involving youth culture. I hope to connect smart people, with creative thoughts in order to start a conversation.

Professionally my focus is:

  • Specialising in youth marketing and communications – specifically in how to have  conversations with youth, not at them
  • Providing strategic approaches across a multitude of channels that reach youth audiences
  • Directing social and online media strategies that fit into overarching marketing campaigns and support larger business objectives

Regarding youth marketing, I live by the 4 E’s:

I love online and social media and have been known to spend copious amounts of time on Facebook, twitter and fashion sites such as my favorite Polyvore. Also find me here @mstuyvenberg.

In my spare time I enjoy traveling and have lived in several countries including US, Australia and Italy. I love literature which I have an degree in; amateur photography; fashion, fashion, fashion; my Puggle (dog) named Riley who also moved from Los Angeles with me; music especially live shows and festivals; and finally – I really love my job (there it is, engraved forever).
