Updated design

18 October 2005

For the benefit of those using an RSS reader, you may like to know that we updated the design of Collective Conversation a little.

The reason is simple: to blend it into our new corporate website, which I’m pleased to say now includes a “Blogs” link on the main navigation, as well as an RSS subscription button for the entire blog feed and for news releases (although I notice we’re still calling them “press releases” – oops, sorry Richard). I’m not yet sold on all the Flash case studies though – what do you think?

It’s also nice to know that we avoid the majority of Jakob Nielsen’s top ten design mistakes of weblog usability.

It all looks very good. Although personally I would drop the calendar and have a proper archive link. But you have to sort out the old press releases issues – it’s so 1920s!

You’re also missing autodiscovery tags for your RSS feeds. Yep, I know not every page on our corporate site has proper autodiscovery tags, but we’re small and it’s cobblers’ children syndrome.
