LG Blogger Relations, Part Deux
11 January 2007
After a very pleasant break we’re back with a vengeance, and a new campaign for our favourite Korean client, LG.
You may recall me writing about the blogger relations campaign we undertook for the LG’s of the uber-cool Chocolate phone. Well we’re at it again – this time for the second phone in the same Black Label Series, named Shine. We’ll be using some of the now tried and tested techniques and a few new ones too.
The first step is sending sample phones to bloggers (how “old” social media…). As well as identifying those we think might appreciate it, this time we’re inviting interested bloggers to apply for a review unit. The criteria for selection form the basis of our first post on the new Shine Blog.
If you have an audience that meets these criteria, feel free to blog about it. Maybe you meet the criteria yourself, in which case send in an application.

Hi Niall
I regretted to see I don’t fit the profile. Thx for the announcement. It would be nice if you could inform us here on the number of people applying for a test mobile. Or will we be able to find that on the Shine blog?

I recently went to the phone store in Times Square, New York City, and the place was jammed with everybody wanting their chocolate phone. Now along comes the Shine. Best of luck with a hip product and a shiny new blog.

Pietr – I’ll try and post updates on progress here.
Mark – Thanks for your anecdote. It is really quite remarkable.

Congratulations – it’s a great case study. Are you working on Shine as well? My trendy 18 year old godson says that is the only phone worth owning!

Amelia, we are indeed working on Shine. Check out http://shine.lgbloggers.com. I admit to being a little biased, but I think it’s pretty cool too.
