Puma Turns 60 And Celebrates Like A Teenager

28 January 2009

It’s always fun to watch how brands celebrate their anniversarys – especially when it is a brand targeting a younger audience and thus coming out with a “we’re 60″ campaign can pose some challenges. I’ve written how VW tackled it with a fun music site, how Diesel celebrated 30 with soft porn and now another great example from Puma.

Puma is turning the grand old age of 60 – the company has definitely been around for a while.  To celebrate the milestone Puma has created a simple website that lets you upload a photo and then have some fun choosing hair styles, clothes, accessories and more from the past 6 decades.  The company doesn’t hide away from some older Puma fashion (back in the day it was hot even if now its funny), it’s all out there.  When you’ve created your own photo fun (or like me, decided it was more fun to dress up your boss) you are able to send it to a friend, share on Facebook or simply save it for yourself.

So don’t be afraid of “getting old” – if you approach it with the right attitude and stay focused on what your target audience thinks would be fun you too could have success like Puma.
