Being for internal communicators
I’m getting quite excited about my role with the CIPR Inside. Now I need to be careful here. Those of you who know me are aware that I have a slight tendency to hyperbole.
But anyone who was at the meeting I had with the group last week could not have failed to enjoy it. Around the table we had senior communicators from across the sectors. From Government to Pharma, Oil & Gas to Financial Services.
The enthusiasm in the room was palpable. There are a number of new committee members and so many of us had not met face-to-face. It had that first day of University feel. Lots of adrenaline, anticipation and sweaty palms. And that was just me.
We spent a lot of time establishing what our objectives should be over the coming 12-18 months. And more or less coalesced on some consistent messaging. We’ll share more detail on that in the coming weeks. But my favourite contribution of the day came from my friend Henri at City & Guilds.
She said something along the lines of CIPR Inside being about Internal Communicators and for Internal Communicators. Which I think is a pretty good way of describing it.
