AOL is the Proud New Owner of TechCrunch

28 September 2010

You may have seen the news today that AOL purchased TechCrunch; the deal was announced onstage at TC’s Disrupt conference in San Francisco.  Interestingly, CNN Money is reporting that when Michael Arrington polled the crowd to see whether or not they thought he should sell, a majority of the crowd voted no (though obviously he sold anyway).  It will be interesting to see how Arrington’s blogger colleagues respond to the news – perhaps they’ll agree with the crowd.  What do you think?  Is this trend – the acquisition of a widely-read, reputable tech blog network by a content-hungry company – going to continue and who will be next?
